OMAHA, NE - The Omaha Royals have become the first team to launch a new website look that will soon be standard for Minor League Baseball clubs. Still found at www.oroyals.com, the sleek and modern look of the website was designed by the Royals and Major League Baseball Advanced Media's Minor League Department.
The team's website features a new banner on top of its home page incorporating more of the team's colors - blue and red - and includes the award-winning "Fun Rules!" logo, as well as artwork of Royals players, the team mascot Casey and historic Rosenblatt Stadium in the background.
The tabs located just under the top banner have been arranged to be more user friendly. Since people read from left to right, the tabs used most often by fans - Tickets, Promotions and Schedule - are the first three tabs going from left to right on the website. The promotions tab is new, as is a Scoreboard tab that will take website visitors to the Pacific Coast League scoreboard.
The media slide show located in the upper left hand corner of the home page has a much better look and improved functionality. The thumbnails which fans can use to select a new slide are hidden from view until the user's mouse moves into the area.
The new-look website now includes four boxes that will carousel fans through informational options in Social Media, Tickets and Events, shoporoyals.com and Multi-Media. The Social Media carousel has direct links to the Royals Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages. Fans who click on the Tickets and Events carousel now will be able to learn more about the Royals Job Fair on March 6th. Shoporoyals.com allows fans to purchase Royals apparel and souvenirs online. Once the Royals season begins on April 8th, the Multi-Media carousel will feature photo slide shows, videos and the Cox Play of the Game.
"The new look of oroyals.com will change the way our fans engage our club on a day-to-day basis," said Eldon Lindsay, Royals Creative Services Manager. "The redesign is more ergonomic and makes everything easier to find in one sleek package. Our website now brings more to the table than ever before."
