Offensive Players of the Week
For the week ending July 5

International League
Andy Marte, Columbus
.458 (11-24), 6 R, 6 2B, 0 3B, 2 HR, 6 RBI, 6 BB, 5 SO, 0 SB, .958 SLG
On July 1, Indians prospect Andy Marte went a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and a home run. He scored a run in knocked in two. Marte, a native of the Dominican Republic, has been swinging a hot bat all season. He was named IL Player of the Week last week as well. The third baseman's .322 average is tied for second in the league. His .544 slugging percentage and 46 RBIs rank second and fourth respectively.

Pacific Coast League
Joe Inglett, Las Vegas
.640 (16-25), 8 R, 5 2B, 0 3B, 1 HR, 7 RBI, 4 BB, 2 SO,1 SB, .960 SLG
Joe Inglett provided his own fireworks for the fans on the 4th of July. The second baseman went 5-for-6 with a double and his first homer of the season. He also collected six RBIs and scored twice. Inglett, who had an astounding five multi-hit games this week, is batting .364 on the season.

Eastern League
Brett Pill, Connecticut
.379 (11-29), 5 R, 4 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 7 RBI, 0 BB, 5 SO, 0 SB, .690 SLG
Giants prospect Brett Pill fell a home run short of the cycle on June 30 and finished the game 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. The first baseman is among the league leaders in average (.317), RBIs (57), hits (95), doubles (28) and extra-base hits (38).

Southern League
Greg Halman, West Tenn
.313 (10-32), 11 R, 2 2B, 0 3B, 6 HR, 8 RBI, 1 BB, 5 SO, 1 SB, .938 SLG
Greg Halman had back-to-back multi-homer games on July 4 and 5. The Mariners prospect went 3-for-5 with three RBIs in each contest. In the second game, he doubled and scored four runs. He's pacing the circuit with 20 homers. He is tied for fourth in the league in extra-base hits (34) and ranks fifth in RBIs (48).

Texas League
Ed Lucas, Northwest Arkansas
.667 (8-12), 6 R, 3 2B, 0 3B, 0 HR, 2 RBI, 6 BB, 0 SO, 1 SB, .917 SLG
Royals prospect Ed Lucas reached base in every game this week and did not strike out once. The third baseman was perfect twice, going 2-for-2 with two walks on both July 2 and July 4. Lucas, a product of Dartmouth College, is batting .304 on the season for Northwest Arkansas.

California League
James McOwen, High Desert
.545 (12-22), 4 R, 2 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 7 RBI, 2 BB, 2 SO, 0 SB, .864 SLG
Outfielder James McOwen extended his hitting streak to a California League record 42 games this week. McOwen, the Mariners' 2007 sixth round selection, had four multi-hit games this week, including two 3-for-4 appearances. The Miami native's .352 average ranks second in the league.

Carolina League
Tyler Kuhn, Winston-Salem
.542 (13-24), 7 R, 1 2B, 1 3B, 0 HR, 1 RBI, 0 BB, 3 SO, 2 SB, .667 SLG
Chicago White Sox prospect Tyler Kuhn went a perfect 4-for-4 with a triple on June 30, scoring three runs and knocking one in. The West Virginia University product finished the week going 4-for-5 and 3-for-4 on July 3 and 4, respectively. Since being promoted to Winston-Salem in mid-June, Kuhn is batting .432.

Florida State League
Manuel Rodriguez, Dunedin
.474 (9-19), 5 R, 5 2B, 0 3B, 2 HR, 10 RBI, 0 BB, 5 SO, 0 SB, 1.053 SLG
First baseman Manuel Rodriguez collected at least two hits and one RBI in all four games this week. The Blue Jays prospect doubled his home run total by going yard in back-to-back games on July 3 and 4. He also batted in a season-high four runs on Friday.

Midwest League

Bryan Pounds, West Michigan

Tigers prospect Bryan Pounds went 4-for-5 with a double to begin the month of July, and he's recorded a hit in all five games this month. The third baseman from Houston racked up a season-high six RBIs on July 5, going 3-for-5 with a triple and three runs scored. His 22 doubles are tied for third in the league and his .413 on-base percentage ranks fifth.

South Atlantic League
John Mollicone, Bowling Green
.500 (9-18), 5 R, 2 2B, 0 3B, 3 HR, 10 RBI, 1 BB, 3 SO, 0 SB, 1.111 SLG
On June 30, John Mollicone became the first Hot Rods player to have a multi-homer game. He followed his 4-for-5 appearance, in which he doubled twice and homered twice, by belting his first professional grand slam on July 1. The Fordham University product's three homers this week bring his season total to four.

Appalachian League
Daniel Rams, Elizabethton
.375 (9-24), 9 R, 0 2B, 0 3B, 5 HR, 11 RBI, 4 BB, 13 SO, 0 SB, 1.000 SLG
Twins prospect Daniel Rams recorded the second multi-homer game of his professional career this week. On June 29, the catcher went 2-for-5 with a pair of homers and four RBIs. The Miami native has reached base in all 11 games he's played with Elizabethton this year. He paces the circuit in homers (6), RBIs (20), slugging percentage (.976), extra-base hits (11) and runs scored (16). His .510 on-base percentage is second. The 20-year-old's .405 batting average also ranks among the league leaders.

New York-Penn League
Alan Ahmady, Batavia
.464 (13-28), 12 R, 2 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 3 RBI, 5 BB, 4 SO, 2 SB, .714 SLG
Alan Ahmady extended his hitting streak to nine games while notching five multi-hit games this week. The Cardinals prospect is currently tied for second in the league with 13 runs scored.

Northwest League
Brent Greer, Yakima
.500 (11-22), 10 R, 3 2B, 0 3B, 4 HR, 6 RBI, 3 BB, 8 SO, 1 SB, 1.182 SLG
On July 5, Brent Greer blasted three home runs in just his 14th professional baseball game. Greer, the Diamondbacks' 14th round selection in this year's Draft, finished the game 4-for-5 with a double and a walk to go with his three bombs. He scored five runs and collected five RBIs. His four home runs on the season are tied for second in the league while his .698 slugging percentage is second-best to Tri-City first baseman Mike Zuanich's .811 mark. Greer is pacing the league with 10 extra-base hits, and his .358 average is among the best in the circuit.

Pioneer League
Jerry Sands, Ogden
.500 (16-32), 9 R, 2 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR, 8 RBI, 3 BB, 4 SO, 0 SB, .813 SLG
Outfielder Jerry Sands is off to a strong start with Ogden this season. The Dodgers prospect currently leads the league in batting average (.473), homers (5), hits (26) and slugging percentage (.818). His 14 RBIs rank second in the league and his .508 on-base percentage is third. Sands, who was selected by the Dodgers in the 2008 Draft, had five multi-hit games this week, including a 4-for-6 game on July 3. He is on an 11-game hitting streak and has recorded a hit in all but one of the Raptors' 13 games this season.
