BALTIMORE -- After 25 days on the disabled list with left elbow inflammation, Orioles reliever Jamie Walker faced his first game action on Thursday afternoon in a rehab appearance with Double-A Bowie. Walker, who threw a simulated game on Tuesday afternoon, is progressing and making his way back to the active roster. Before Thursday's game against the Blue Jays, manager Dave Trembley said he was unsure if the rehab appearance would be the first of several for Walker or simply a one-time thing. The plan was to see how the left-hander felt after his relief work in Bowie. "We'll see how he feels the day after and we'll go from there," Trembley said. "Legally, we can send him out for 21 days, I think, on a [rehab assignment]. I don't expect that's what's going to occur, but Walker was great about it." The performance itself, however, left some lingering questions, as Walker allowed three runs on five hits -- three singles, a double and a three-run homer -- in one inning of work against the Harrisburg Senators. Walker, who was put on the 15-day disabled list on June 30, received a cortisone shot in his left elbow early in July. This season, Walker is 1-0 with a 4.98 ERA in 37 appearances out of the Orioles' bullpen. Injured shortstop Alex Cintron (left hamstring strain) also made his first rehab appearance in the Baysox game on Thursday, going 1-for-2 before being pulled for a pinch-runner in the fourth inning.
