April 14 -- Ryan Braun homered in his first three at-bats and drove in five runs as Nashville coasted past New Orleans, 14-1. Vinny Rottino homered and drove in three runs and Andy Abad was 4-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs scored for the Sounds.

April 15 -- Ryan Braun hit a two-run homer and Vinny Rottino knocked in three runs as the Sounds defeated New Orleans, 10-3. Rottino went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and Chris Barnwell scored three times.

April 17 -- Brendan Katin went 4-for-5 with a grand slam and a career-high six RBIs, powering Huntsville to a 10-2 victory over the Jacksonville Suns. Katin delivered a two-run single in the first inning and stroked a base hit in the third before clearing the bases with his first homer of the year in the fourth as the Stars jumped out to a 9-0 lead. The 24-year-old right fielder struck out in the sixth and capped his big night with another single in the eighth.

April 20 -- Zach Braddock struck out a career-high 12 batters in 5 2/3 shutout innings as West Virginia defeated Greensboro, 4-1. The 19-year-old left-hander, who was shut down for the year in mid-June due to shoulder problems, limited the Grasshoppers to four hits.

April 27 -- Chuck Caulfield homered in the 17th inning as the West Virginia Power beat the Lexington Legends, 8-5, to stretch their team-record winning streak to 14 games. Caulfield, who was 3-for-7 with two runs scored, broke a 5-5 tie by leading off the 17th with his first homer of the season. The streak ended the next day when the Legends beat the Power, 9-1.

April 29 -- Lou Palmisano drove in five runs and Steven Hammond tossed a six-hitter as Huntsville blanked Birmingham, 8-0. Palmisano lined a three-run double in the first inning and slugged a two-run homer in the eighth to match his career high for RBIs. Hammond walked one and struck out six.

May 6 -- Yovani Gallardo tossed seven shutout innings as the Nashville Sounds defeated the Round Rock Express, 5-2. The 21-year-old right-hander gave up one hit, walked three and struck out nine. After allowing four earned runs in five innings against Oklahoma on April 9, the Texas native has yielded five runs and fanned 44 over his last 32 frames.

May 7 -- Zach Jackson fired a one-hitter as Nashville cruised to a 7-1 victory over Round Rock. The 23-year-old left-hander threw 89 pitches, striking out three without a walk. He retired the first nine batters before hitting Josh Anderson with a pitch to lead off the fourth. After Tim Raines grounded into a 6-4-3 double play, Brooks Conrad connected for his team-leading sixth homer.

May 11 -- Lindsay Gulin and two relievers combined on a one-hitter as Huntsville nipped Mobile, 2-1. Gulin gave up an unearned run while walking two and striking out five over five hitless innings. Corey Thurman retired nine straight batters, fanning three, before Marino Salas gave up a hit and a walk in the ninth to notch the save. The BayBears were on the verge of being no-hit for the first time in team history before Mark Reynolds singled with two outs in the ninth.

May 12 -- Hernan Iribarren had two hits and three RBIs during a team-record 13-run eighth inning that sent the Huntsville Stars to a 16-7 victory over the Carolina Mudcats. The Stars trailed, 7-3, when Brendan Katin led off the seventh with his sixth home run and Iribarren delivered a two-run single before hitting an RBI double later in the frame. The Stars set a team record for runs in an inning and defeated the Mudcats for the seventh straight time. Iribarren batted .409 with nine runs scored and eight RBIs and was named Southern League Offensive Player of the Week.

May 17 -- Yovani Gallardo and two relievers combined on a two-hitter as Nashville blanked visiting Albuquerque, 3-0. Gallardo walked two batters and uncorked a wild pitch in the first inning, but retired 12 straight batters before hitting Josh Labandeira with two outs in the fifth. He walked two and struck out 11 -- one shy of his season high -- en route to his fifth straight win. The 21-year-old right-hander also was named the Pacific Coast League's Pitcher of the Week.

May 18 -- Mike McClendon came within two outs of the first no-hitter in Power history as West Virginia rolled to an 8-1 victory over the Asheville Tourists. The 22-year-old right-hander set down the first 19 Tourists before Hector Gomez drew a one-out walk in the seventh. Victor Ferrante also walked with two outs in the eighth and Gomez broke up the no-hitter with a one-out single in the ninth.

May 19 -- Zach Braddock pitched seven strong innings and Martin Maldonado drove in three runs as the West Virginia Power routed the Asheville Tourists, 11-0. The 19-year-old southpaw gave up two hits and struck out 11 and has not allowed more than two runs in any of his seven starts this season. Maldonado hit an RBI double in a seven-run first inning and lined a two-run single to cap a four-run seventh.

May 24 -- Ryan Braun homered to snap a fifth-inning tie and Nashville defeated Memphis, 3-1. Sounds starter Yovani Gallardo scattered seven hits and struck out 10 over six-plus innings for the win.

May 24 -- Brevard County starter Will Inman struck out a career-high 12 batters over six innings in a 3-1 win over Sarasota. Inman limited the Reds to one run on three hits and a walk. He took over the Minor League strikeout lead with 77 and topped the Florida State League with a 1.36 ERA.

June 2 -- Joe Dillon homered twice and drove in a career-high seven runs, powering the Nashville Sounds to a 13-4 thumping of the Tucson Sidewinders. It took the 31-year-old third baseman only three at-bats and two swings to eclipse his previous career best for RBIs. He blasted a grand slam in the second inning, then launched a three-run homer, his seventh, in the fourth. Dillon's previous career high for RBIs was six on June 8, 2004, when he was with Albuquerque.

June 7 -- Andrew Lefave went 4-for-5 with a homer as visiting West Virginia beat Lexington, 9-5 to clinch its first postseason bid since 2004. Lefave ripped a three-run blast to give the Power a 7-3 lead in the ninth inning. The 22-year-old first baseman has gone 13-for-27 with three homers, 16 RBIs and 11 runs scored over his last eight games. Brent Brewer, Michael Brantley and Andy Bouchie each added three hits as the Power secured the South Atlantic League Northern Division first-half title with 11 games left.

June 12 -- John Alonso had six RBIs as the Power outslugged the Crawdads, 24-13. "It wasn't that [the score] was surreal, it was that it took so long," Alonso said. He doubled home two runs in a 10-run first inning, scored three times and hit his first homer of the season, a three-run shot over the right-field wall in a seven-run second. He also was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the second and doubled in the eighth.

June 17 -- Lindsay Gulin had a career-high 11 strikeouts in 8 1/3 innings as Huntsville edged Birmingham, 3-2, to win the Southern League North title. Michael Brantley walked with one out in the bottom of the ninth and moved to third on Steven Sollmann's single. After Adam Heether walked, Fernando Hernandez uncorked a wild pitch, allowing Brantley to score. "I was sitting in the top step of the dugout and [reliever] Jeff Housman came up behind me and said 'This guy is going to throw a wild pitch and we're going to win. Watch it,'" Gulin said.

June 25 -- Manny Parra pitched a perfect game in his second Triple-A start as Nashville defeated Round Rock, 3-0. Parra, who was the Pacific Coast League's Pitcher of the Week, became the first pitcher in the PCL to toss a perfect game since the Sounds' John Wasdin on April 7, 2003. It was the eighth perfect game in league history and the first since Portland Beavers hurlers Ryan Meaux, Aquilino Lopez and Cla Meredith combined for one against the Sacramento River Cats in the first game of a doubleheader on June 9, 2006.

June 25 -- R.J. Seidel and two relievers combined on a one-hitter as Helena defeated Missoula, 9-2. Seidel retired the first 10 batters before walking Peter Clifford with one out in the fourth inning. After striking out Jimmy Principe, Seidel gave up the lone hit -- Sean Coughlin's RBI double.

July 1 -- Will Inman allowed one hit over six innings for his first Double-A win as Huntsville defeated West Tenn, 7-1. Inman gave up a solo homer to Matt Tuiasosopo while walking four and striking out six. The 20-year-old right-hander earned a spot at the Florida State League All-Star Game after going 4-3 with a 1.72 ERA in 13 starts for Brevard County. But he struggled in his first three Southern League outings, surrendering 16 runs on 18 hits over 10 2/3 innings.

July 3 -- Mat Gamel extended his hitting streak to 30 games as Brevard County topped Palm Beach, 7-3, in the opener of their doubleheader. Gamel's streak is the longest in the Florida State League since Dunedin's Casey Blake hit in 31 consecutive games in 1998.

July 6 -- Steve Garrison flirted with a no-hitter and Mat Gamel extended his hitting streak to 33 games as Brevard County blanked Jupiter, 3-0. Garrison did not allow a hit until James Guerrero doubled with one out in the bottom of the sixth. He pitched a career-high 7 2/3 innings and gave up two hits and three walks with seven strikeouts. Gamel stretched his hitting streak when he lined a two-run double in the first inning.

July 7 -- Mat Gamel's hitting streak ended as the Palm Beach Cardinals blanked the Brevard County Manatees, 2-0, to earn a split of their doubleheader. Gamel went 0-for-3 to end his 33-game run, which was the longest in the Florida State League since Joe Altobelli hit in a record 36 consecutive games in 1951.

July 19 -- Lindsay Gulin combined with three relievers on a three-hitter as Huntsville defeated visiting Tennessee, 3-0, to win its 10th straight game. Gulin gave up three hits and a walk while striking out six over seven innings for his fifth straight win. Corey Thurman fanned two in a perfect eighth before Mitch Stetter and Luis Pena worked a hitless ninth to seal the Stars' fifth shutout.

July 21 -- Steve Moss ripped an RBI double in the bottom of the ninth inning as Huntsville rallied for its club record-tying 12th straight win, a 5-4 victory over Tennessee. The Stars trailed, 4-3, in the ninth before Hernan Iribarren singled, moved to second on Alcides Escobar's sacrifice and scored on a single by pinch-hitter Michael Brantley. Moss followed with his 14th double off reliever Jim Henderson as Huntsville remained unbeaten since July 5. The Stars also won 12 straight from April 30-May 12, 1988.

July 24 -- Yohannis Perez had a career-high six RBIs as Brevard County battered St. Lucie, 10-1, in the completion of a suspended game. Perez continued his blistering July as he went 4-for-5 with a triple. He got Brevard County going with an RBI single in the second inning and delivered a two-run base hit in the fifth before legging out a bases-loaded triple in the eighth.

July 26 -- David Welch took a perfect game into the eighth inning before the Brevard County Manatees defeated the Vero Beach Devil Rays, 6-2. Welch breezed through seven innings, thanks to two great plays by third baseman Mat Gamel and left fielder Cole Gillespie. Welch lost the perfect game when catcher Anderson De La Rosa dropped a pop-up in front of the mound. Matthew Devins followed with a run-scoring double to break up the no-hitter.

July 31 -- Mark DiFelice hurled five hitless innings and combined with two relievers on a two-hitter as the Nashville Sounds blanked the Sacramento River Cats, 2-0. DiFelice struck out four and walked two while lowering his ERA to 1.13 in four starts for the Sounds. The 30-year-old right-hander was 6-1 with one save and a 1.62 ERA in 26 games, including three starts, at Double-A Huntsville. The shutout was the Pacific Coast League-leading eighth for the Sounds.

Aug. 15 -- Nashville's Adam Pettyjohn flirted with perfection as the Sounds defeated visiting New Orleans, 7-3. Pettyjohn retired the first 19 batters he faced before allowing a double to Fernando Tatis with one out in the seventh inning. The 30-year-old southpaw escaped further damage in the inning after allowing a two-out walk and was removed for a pinch-hitter in the bottom of the frame. Pettyjohn struck out three and lowered his ERA to 3.43 in 14 starts with the Sounds.

Aug. 18 -- Laynce Nix homered for the fourth straight game and R.A. Dickey tossed a six-hitter as Nashville cruised to a 9-2 victory over Round Rock. Nix slugged a three-run homer, his 19th, in the third inning to give the Sounds a 7-0 lead. The 26-year-old right fielder, who also singled twice and doubled, is 14-for-24 with four homers and nine RBIs over his last six games. Dickey walked two and tied a season high with eight strikeouts in his 13th career complete game. The 32-year-old right-hander has won nine of his last 10 decisions and is 4-0 with a 1.93 ERA over his last six starts.

Aug. 19 -- Laynce Nix homered for the fifth straight game and drove in four runs Sunday to power the Nashville Sounds to a 12-4 romp over the Round Rock Express. The 26-year-old right fielder cranked a solo shot, his 20th, in the sixth inning to extend his hitting streak to eight games. Nix went 11-for-20 with 12 RBIs during the homer streak, earning him Player of the Week honors in the PCL.

Aug. 20 -- Laynce Nix homered for the sixth consecutive game as visiting Nashville edged Round Rock, 6-5. Nix launched his 21st home run over the center-field wall to lead off the sixth inning and extend his hitting streak to nine games.

Aug. 26 -- Mark DiFelice and Chris Spurling combined on a four-hitter and the Nashville Sounds clinched their third straight American North Division title with a 1-0 blanking of the Oklahoma RedHawks.

Sept. 5 -- Mat Gamel singled home the winning run in the bottom of the ninth as Brevard County edged St. Lucie, 7-6, to even their Florida State League first-round playoff series at 1-1.

Sept. 6 -- Brae Wright hurled 7 2/3 solid innings as the Manatees pounded visiting St. Lucie, 13-2 to advance to the Florida State League Finals for the first time since 2001. After going 0-2 in seven regular-season games for the Manatees, Wright (1-0) pitched seven scoreless frames before giving up two runs in the eighth. He allowed eight hits and one walk while striking out three.

Sept. 7 -- Corey Thurman combined with two relievers on the third no-hitter in Southern League postseason history as Huntsville silenced the Tennessee Smokies, 5-0. Thurman walked two and struck out seven over six innings as the Stars evened the first-round playoff series at 1-1.

Sept. 7 -- J.R. Hopf hit a walk-off single in the 10th inning as the Nashville Sounds staved off elimination in their Pacific Coast League first-round series with a 6-5 win over the New Orleans Zephyrs. One inning after cranking a leadoff homer to tie the game, 5-5, the 24-year-old catcher laced a two-out, bases-loaded single to plate Brad Nelson.

Sept. 8 -- Roque Mercedes and Nick Tyson combined on a five-hitter as the Helena Brewers blanked the Great Falls White Sox, 2-0, in Game 1 of their Pioneer League North Division series. Mercedes struck out three and scattered four hits over 5 1/3 innings. Tyson gave up one hit, walked one and fanned five over 3 2/3 frames to notch the save.

Sept. 8 -- Matt LaPorta, Chuck Caufield and Taylor Green each drove in two runs as the West Virginia Power beat the Hickory Crawdads, 9-4, to advance to the South Atlantic League Championship Series. LaPorta opened the scoring with his first playoff homer in the first inning, then ripped an RBI double and scored in the Power's four-run third. The 22-year-old designated hitter batted .500 with seven runs scored and four RBIs in the series.

Sept. 9 -- Lindsay Gulin tossed a three-hitter as the Huntsville Stars blanked the Tennessee Smokies, 6-0, in Game 4 of the Southern League North Division Finals. With his grandfather in attendance, Gulin struck out seven and walked two en route to his first complete game for an affiliated team since 2003. In two regular-season starts against the Smokies, he was 2-0 with a 0.64 ERA.

Sept. 10 -- When it mattered most, Huntsville's Don Money showed why he was voted Southern League Manager of the Year. Money's strategy helped the Stars escape a ninth-inning jam as they held off visiting Tennessee, 8-7, on Monday in the fifth and decisive game of their first-round playoff series.

Sept. 10 -- Mat Gamel homered and drove in three runs as visiting Brevard County climbed back into the Florida State League Championship Series with a 5-4 win over Clearwater on Monday. The Manatees' victory cut the Threshers' advantage to 2-1 in the best-of-5 series. Gamel ripped an RBI double during a three-run first inning. The 22-year-old third baseman slugged his second homer of the playoffs, a two-run shot, in the second to cap Brevard County's scoring.
