International League
Buddy Carlyle, Richmond
2-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 1 CG, 1 SHO, 13 IP, 8 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 16 SO

Carlyle did not allow a run in two victorious starts this week, running his scoreless streak to 18 innings. The 29-year-old right-hander scattered five hits and a walk over six frames against Charlotte on Tuesday. He was even better Saturday against Durham, allowing three hits and striking out 10 in a seven-inning complete game as the Braves swept a doubleheader from the Bulls. It was Carlyle's first complete game since 2000.

Pacific Coast League
Jonathon Rouwenhorst, Salt Lake
2-0, 0.90 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 10 IP, 7 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 9 SO

After seven relief appearances to start the season, Rouwenhorst is finding success as a starter. The 27-year-old southpaw turned in a pair of five-inning gems this week, allowing a run on three hits against Portland on Monday before shutting down Tacoma on four hits in Saturday's start. The undefeated Rouwenhurst has compiled a 3.46 ERA as a starter, compared to 5.59 out of the bullpen.

Eastern League
Brett Smith, Trenton
2-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 12 IP, 8 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 4 BB, 9 SO

Smith picked up a pair of wins this week while running his scoreless streak to 27 2/3 innings. The 23-year-old righty scattered four hits over six frames in both starts (vs. New Hampshire on Tuesday and New Britain on Sunday). His 0.92 ERA is second lowest in the league, trailing only recently promoted ex-teammate Chase Wright.

Southern League
Matt Riley, Jacksonville
0-0, 1.76 ERA, 3 G, 0 GS, 0 CG, 0 SHO, 5.1 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 12 SO

Riley pitched just 25 1/3 innings over the last two seasons due to elbow problems, but 2007 is shaping up as a far different story. The lefty reliever struck out 12 batters over 5 1/3 innings during the week and picked up two saves in as many opportunities. On Tuesday, Riley entered with the bases loaded and no outs in the sixth inning and struck out the side to end the threat. Three nights later, he whiffed five in two perfect frames to nab his first save since 2000.

Texas League
Cesar Ramos, San Antonio
2-0, 1.20 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 1 CG, 1 SHO, 15 IP, 10 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 9 SO

Ramos went up against Midland on Monday and became the first Texas League pitcher to throw a nine-inning shutout this season. The 22-year-old southpaw scattered three hits and a walk while striking out six as the Missions coasted to a 4-0 win. He wasn't quite as dominant against Corpus Christi on Saturday, allowing two runs on seven hits over six innings, but still collected his second straight win.

California League
Wade Leblanc, Lake Elsinore
2-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 12 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 14 SO

Leblanc le-blanked Stockton over two near-identical starts this week. On Sunday, the 22-year-old left-hander surrendered two hits over six shutout innings while striking out four. He was even more dominant Saturday, allowing just one hit over six scoreless frames while whiffing a season-high 10 batters. Needless to say, Leblanc won both starts.

Carolina League
Brandon Erbe, Frederick
2-0, 1.46 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 12.1 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 11 SO

Erbe hurled six hitless innings against Wilmington on Tuesday, allowing a run on four walks and a hit batter. He was just as good five days later against Winston-Salem, yielding a run on four hits while striking out five over 6 1/3 innings. The 19-year-old righty has won his last three starts after failing to factor in a decision in his first three.

Florida State League
Wade Davis, Vero Beach
1-0, 0.00 ERA, 1 G, 1 GS, 7 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 6 SO

Davis' lone start this week was a memorable one. The 21-year-old right-hander hurled the first no-hitter of the 2007 Minor League season as the Devil Rays earned a doubleheader split with a 4-0 victory over Jupiter. Davis struck out six and walked one in the contest, which was his second seven-inning no-no in as many seasons -- and the first that he won. Last September in the Midwest League, Davis pitched a no-hitter against Beloit but lost the game on an unearned run.

Midwest League
Jeff Manship, Beloit
2-0, 0.64 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 14 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 17 SO

On Sunday, Manship allowed just one hit while striking out eight over seven shutout innings as the Snappers blanked Fort Wayne, 3-0. He followed that up on Saturday by allowing a run on four hits over seven innings and striking out nine as Beloit coasted to an 8-1 win over Great Lakes. Manship leads the league in strikeouts (45) and ranks third in ERA (0.92).

South Atlantic League
Alexandre Periard, West Virginia
2-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 12 IP, 9 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 9 SO

After making three relief appearances, Periard returned to the Power's rotation this week and immediately made his presence felt. The 19-year-old righty hurled six scoreless innings against Hagerstown on Tuesday, and five more against Lexington on Sunday. Periard didn't earn the win in the latter start, as West Virginia's bullpen blew the lead before the team rallied for a 10-inning victory. Nonetheless, his 0.69 ERA is second in the circuit.
