Memphis, Tenn. - Last season John Gall finally broke into the Major Leagues with 22 games for the St. Louis Cardinals.

Gall's hot start with Memphis has earned him a second shot with the big club after a lackluster spring that saw him hit just .207 with one home run and four RBI. Gall was leading the Redbirds in almost every major offensive category, including average (.387) and RBI (14).

Infielder Kevin Estrada has been transferred back to Memphis from Double-A Springfield after being transferred from Memphis to Springfield on Tuesday, April 24. Estrada played in two games for the Double-A Cardinals and was 5-for-8 with a home run.

Memphis returns to action tonight at Iowa. The 'Birds edged the Cubs 3-2 in the first game of the series on Thursday night and will look for back-to-back wins for just the second time this season. Right-hander John Webb (0-2) will oppose right-hander Jae-Kuk Ryu (0-2). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
