Inland Empire was unable to stop what is now a four game losing streak or eliminate the Nuts from playoff contention, falling 10-3 in the second to last game of the season. Inland Empire (24-45, 50-89) now has just one game left on the 2010 season, and one final opportunity to keep Modesto (35-34, 72-67) from reaching the post season as well.
The names Wallach, Van Slyke and Yount were of the household variety throughout the 1970s, 80s and 90s, referring to Tim, Andy and Robin, but watching their fathers' every swing were a group of three children - Matt, Scott and Dustin - who would one day follow in dad's footsteps.

The 66ers will celebrate the start of the 2011 season with a seven-game homestand at Arrowhead Credit Union Park which will begin on Thursday, April 7th against their I-10 rivals, the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. Following a four-game set with the Quakes, the High Desert Mavericks will visit San Bernardino to finish out Opening Week.
