The Storm win their fourth in a row on their way to their 81st victory of the year. Storm manager Carlos Lezcano, who already broke the all-time wins record for a Storm manager, looks to get his 300th win with Lake Elsinore. Lezcano will have three more games to hit the milestone.
Over the weekend the California League named their post-season All-Stars as well as their end of the year awards. Storm pitchers Brad Brach and Anthony Bass were named post-season All-Stars.
Storm manager Carlos Lezcano was named Manager of the Year for 2010 after leading the Storm to their first First Half Title since 2005. With a 77-55 record as of August 29, Lezcano is five wins away from 300 regular season victories as manager of the Storm. Pitching coach Dave Rajsich was also named Coach of the Year after molding the Storm pitching staff into the best in the Cal League.
Storm closer Brad Brach was named Pitcher of the Year after breaking the California League record for single season saves. Brach is 5-2 with a 2.52 ERA, 10 walks, 67 strikeouts and 40 saves in 60.2 innings of work.
Storm first baseman/designated hitter Cody Decker was named Player of the Week for the week of August 23 - 29. Decker batted .318 with seven runs, two doubles, three home runs, six RBI and six walks.
