O'Sullivan to Make ML Debut 06/16/2009 11:20 AM ETSalt Lake Bees
The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced today that the club has recalled right-handed pitcher Sean O'Sullivan from Triple-A Salt Lake. To replace O'Sullivan on the Salt Lake roster, the Bees have recalled right-handed pitcher Trevor Bell from Double-A Arkansas. O'Sullivan is scheduled to start in tonight's Angels game against the San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park. Bell is scheduled to start tonight for the Bees. O'Sullivan, 21, has appeared in 10 games for the Bees in 2009, owning a 5-2 record with a 6.02 ERA and 35 strikeouts. His first appearance with the Angels will be his major league debut. The El Cajon, Calif. native was originally selected by the Angels in the third round of the 2005 draft. Bell, 22, has appeared in 11 games for Arkansas this season, owning a 4-3 record with a 2.23 ERA and 51 strikeouts. His first appearance with the Bees will be his Triple-A debut. The North Hollywood, Calif. native was originally selected by the Angels in the first round of the 2005 draft. The 37-28 division-leading Salt Lake Bees continue a three-game homestand against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox tonight at 7:05 p.m. at Spring Mobile Ballpark.
