D-Braves strike out 15 Cardinals

Reliever Edgar Osuna recorded seven of Danville's 15 strikeouts Tuesday as the Braves defeated the Johnson City Cardinals, 8-4.

Osuna (3-1) allowed one run on four hits and two walks over 4 1/3 innings for the win. Starter Cole Rohrbough yielded three runs -- two earned -- on one hit with six strikeouts and two walks in three frames.

Casey Beck faced two batters in the eighth, fanned one and walked one before Nicholas Fellman yielded one hit and struck out one over the final 1 1/3 innings to notch his Appalachian League-leading 10th save.

Carlos Lee belted a solo homer, his third, in the first and lifted a sacrifice fly in the seventh for the Braves (26-11), who have won eight of their last 10 games. Benjamin Johnson delivered RBI singles in the sixth and eighth.

Reliever Jose Arredondo (4-2) took the loss after surrendering five runs -- one earned -- on four hits and a walk in one-plus innings. Starter Nicholas Additon gave up one run on three hits while striking out six in five frames.

Nicholas Vera laced a three-run homer, his first, in the first for the Cardinals (18-20). Adron Chambers singled in the eighth and went 2-for-4 to extend his hitting streak to 12 games.
